Workshop Description

With more businesses adopting an API-first approach, contract testing is increasingly becoming a hot topic. This workshop takes you from never having done contract testing before to being able to rapidly deliver value with contract testing in challenging environments.

We'll be focusing on three keys areas:
1. Using contract testing to uncover novel defects in your application and show you conform to your API specification.
2. How to independently generate specifications for your dependent systems you don't own, and;
3. How to catch backwards compatibility errors across teams and services before a line of code is written

Experience Level

Level 200: Experienced. Attendees should have an awareness of the topic but may not have practical experience.

Professionally he is the Cloud Practice Lead APJ at Cognizant, and the author of the Cloud Native Security Cookbook with O'Reilly. Although his career started in mainframe development, he's work at machine learning start ups, product companies, and in more recent time has been a digital transformation consultant in Australia and the UK. A seasoned international speaker, he loves to share the lessons he's learnt in his career hoping that he can save people the pain and lead to happier, more impactful careers.
