Generative AI Unicorn Party: An Amazon Bedrock GameDay presented by the AWS User Group (Perth / Boorloo)

Workshop Description

GameDays provide participants with a dynamic sandbox in which they can make their own choices about problems and features to be addressed.

This GameDay focuses on building and scaling generative AI solutions using Large Language Models hosted in Amazon Bedrock.

There are multiple quests to be completed, from "Mystic Code" and "UniCare" to "Voice of the Unicorn" and "Unicorn Party", and a little theatre to start with as these quests are placed within context of some personas acted by the workshop presenters.

Experience Level

Level 200: Experienced. Attendees should have an awareness of the topic but may not have practical experience.

Cristian is an advisor, architect and chief technologist with consultancy, JourneyOne. As a serial learner and multidisciplinarian, he combines qualifications in business, technology and communications with roving interests from music and linguistics to brewing and geopolitics. With an evolving research focus from data mesh and event-driven architectures to AI-enabled human-technology collaboration, he is an active contributor to professional communities, including the AWS community, in his capacity as an AWS Ambassador, AWS Community Builder and organiser of the AWS User Group (Perth/Boorloo).

Jen O'Hehir

Jen is a Senior Solutions Architect helping customers new to AWS build innovative and operationally optimised cloud and hybrid solutions. She has enjoyed working in many roles in IT over nearly 30 years, across many domains including Mining, Insurance and Government. Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate for women in tech roles and has learned a lot about how to support, promote and sponsor others. Jen is a SheBuilds Mentor, Co-organiser for the AWS Perth User Group and a Glamazon Committee Member. In her free time, Jen volunteers as a bush firefighter at her local brigade and hikes out in the bush in the Perth hills.

Shaun is an engineer helping clients with modern build and run practices. He is currently working at Versent, a four-time AWS Partner of the Year consultancy. Shaun is passionate about event-driven architecture, serverless and all things AWS. He is also a Co-organiser of the Perth AWS User Group.
